HUGE NEWS!

HUGE NEWS!!!

We still have visitors so this is going to be short and sweet but it's to good not to blog about!
The hubs had an AMAZING opportunity fall into his lap this past weekend.
Let me explain...

Okay, so I'm not much into The Bachelor or Bachelor Pad as far as reality tv goes but I know some of you are...Does anyone remember Michael Stagliano from season 5 with Jillian!?
I don't so I googled him and here is some info.

Age: 27
Nickname: Stag
Residence: Sherman Oaks, CA
Occupation: Entrepreneur
From: The Bachelorette Season 5
Best known for... Being the adorable breakdancer who tried to confuse Jillian Harris by introducing her to his twin brother Stephen during his hometown date. Jilly wasn't fooled. After The Bachelorette, Michael got engaged to Bachelor: London alumnus Holly Durst, but they ended their engagement shortly before agreeing to go on Bachelor Pad Season 2. According to ABC, "The wounds from his break-up with ex-fiance and fellow Bachelor Pad contestant Holly Durst are still fresh. Michael must not only contend with 17 other contestants, but he also faces the prospects of Holly dating other guys." Holly is a children's book author and Stag also published a book called Wesley's Stories: Afterschool Adventures.

Did you love him? Did you Hate him?
Well, guess what.... Chad's getting to open up for him at El Corazon Friday night in Seattle! I am so beyond excited because to me my 6 degrees of separation just got Wayyyy smaller in the Reality TV world and that my husband is getting called to play with bigger and bigger acts.

Yea, That Chad Knight is MY Chad Knight..... squeeeeel.

If you're in Seattle COME TO THE SHOW FRIDAY! Meet me and maybe I can get ya backstage to meet a kinda sorta famous reality tv show star.

Oh, and go LIKE Chad Knight's Facebook Page and Join the event if you're going to go!

Tell me if you watched him on the show and any questions/comments you think I should ask/tell him!!

Out of Office

Morgan and Maddie are here!

We have more visitors with us this week (May has been full of family and friends- love it!)
Blogging isn’t a top priority while we have visitors because I’m usually to busy entertaining/cooking/cleaning but I will try and get a few out. Even though that probably isn’t going to happen. In short we are going to have a big girls adventure this weekend (I’m off for Memorial Day Hallelujah!) to Aberdeen, (home of Kurt Cobain who you might know from a little band named Nirvana) Forks, & Port Angeles! I’m so excited!!! Morg and Mads are Twilight buffs and of course I have been wanting to go so us three plus my friend Raelyn are going to head off into the West and try and find us some werewolf/sparkly vampires and eat Mushroom Ravioli.
Judge us if you will.

PS. Look what Morgan brought me all the way from Mississippi!

They don’t have them up here and I have no idea why…they have every other BAKED Lays option but no Doritos! WTF is up with that Washington???

What are YOU doing for Memorial Day?

Just Naturally skinny over here...

The Knight house has been full of fun lately with extreme amounts of time being devoted to working out, hanging out with friends, and spending quality time with the old ball in chain. I'm so happy right now. Life is GOOD and I hope that your's tastes just as sweet as mine does.

However, I do have an example in my life how the world just ISN'T freaking fair. While Haley was here I realized that some people just get lucky and get to be skinny.
No matter what they eat or how little activity that they do.
I give you EXAMPLE A:

I told Haley to bring her workout gear because we WERE going to work out during her 8 day visit. She's getting married next year so she was game and actually brought her gear (that she always has but never uses - she actually told me her life is like that commercial where the mom is wearing yoga pants but in fact never uses them to work out, she just like the style) and I got her to go with me the second day that she was here. In the photo above I show you her pre workout meal. (I had one energy bite for fuel)

The work out featured me getting in a few miles and her walking at 2.0 speed (freaking speedy there) while filling me in on wedding plans. When she went over to one of the weight machines and tried to pull the handle down to work out and then stated, "MAN THIS THING IS BROKE IT WON'T PULL DOWN!" I had to just shake my head and tell her that it wouldn't pull down due to the handles still being in their holder; I knew it was time to go.
Haley had worn her self out.

EXAMPLE B:
Her post workout meal was cookie dough.

Mine was a smoothie.

Life is just NOT FAIR.

------------------------------------------

Do you have one of those friends that is just hot and skinny while only eating corn dogs, cookie dough, and chips?
Is her name Haley too?

Food Truck Rodeo!

The Sunday that Haley was here (May 6th) the little neighborhood of Fremont in Seattle hosted a “pop up” Food Truck Rodeo which I heard about through Facebook. Now, I try really hard not to watch the Food Network because it is basically food porn and it literally makes me want to eat the TV. I’m obsessed with Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives but it causes me to binge eat and drive anywhere near that has fried food so I had to stop watching. I have boycotted that station for several other shows like that “Big Bite” one where they find the biggest hamburger in the world and eat it or the show “The best thing I ever ate” I mean ARE YOU KIDDING ME. That network is just out to get me. However, when I did used to watch it I remembered a little show about Food Trucks and how they are the new “it” thing. So, of course I was totally excited to go see a bunch of these trucks at once and try a bunch of different yummy foods. Haley was down to go and my friend up here Angela decided to join us for a beautiful sunny afternoon in Fremont. (Just a side note about Fremont- it is considered one of the artsy neighborhoods in North Seattle and is home to the Fremont Troll which sits under the Aurora bridge. This troll is the neatest thing EVER and one of my favorite places to take visitors. Every city should totally have a troll under a bridge right? There are tons of bars, eateries, shops, brewery’s, etc. in Fremont including Theo’s Chocolate Factory which you may remember the hubs and I toured for Valentines Day this year. If you are coming to Seattle for a visit make sure you explore this area – it is truly unique.)

First off parking was a mess but we ended up snagging a good spot at a closed concrete factory a few blogs away from the area where the 20-30 trucks were which is NOT BAD in Seattle. I was a tad worried my car would be towed but we looked around and didn’t see any signs posted so we said, “what the hell” and started walking to the show. Let me just state that we have been getting AMAZING weather on the weekends lately- I’m talking sunny, 65-79 degrees, light wind, fresh air, ah it makes me so happy. After our short walk we had to go find Angela after dropping her off so she could go vomit in a porta potty. (She says it was from being car sick I say my driving is amazing and she was just making room jk jk) We found her happy as could be with a pulled pork sandwich and French fries in her hands after we waded through the 5,000 people that were there. Angela was feeling much better and ready for the next treat! We decided to walk around through all of the trucks so we could see what was offered. There were several options but to be honest I was kinda let down. I wanted crazy amazing things to be offered like gourmet grill cheeses, crazy desert trucks, insane French fry creations, massive nachos, cupcakes, etc. Instead, it was pretty much different variations on hamburgers, pizza, BBQ, Mexican, and Ice cream. It was still a lot of fun and I hear there are tons of food trucks that didn’t make it that day so hopefully next time I will find crazy trucks like I have in my dreams. Also, a lot of the trucks were running out of things with still 3 hours left to go for the day! If you know you are going to be at a Food Truck Rodeo for 6 hours you should bring more stuff! I realize there is only so much you can fit in a truck but seriously when I wait in line for 20 minutes for a homemade Ice cream cookie sandwich and the only damn cookies that are left are chocolate chip out of the original 6 choices AND only like 2 ice cream flavors left out of the 6 original choices I’m not to happy of a camper. I could talk for days about this event (it really was A LOT of fun and I plan on attending more) but I will spare you and just show you what we ate:

Haley & I with Mr. Bacon

Just one side shot of the festival there was soooo much more!

The view from my parked car
Such a pretty day.

This guy has CK's dream shirt. They'd be besties.

Haley, Me, & Angela!

Peanut Butter Ice cream & Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich
I'm not sure it was worth the 20 minute wait but it was yummy.

We all got pizza from this place...it was AMAZING and quick!
Haley got Pepperoni, I got 3 cheese, and Angela got the Pesto Chicken one. Haleys WON hands down for me because that pepperoni was out of the world but all three were delicious.

The pizza was cooked in that dome thing behind the girl. It made the crust super airy and crunchy!

I can’t wait for the next Rodeo and I hope to see new/different trucks and try some different things next time. I also hope CK can come to the next once because I felt like an asshole for wasting ½ of my cookie sandwich. It was so full of sugar I couldn’t finish it (seriously weird) and I just know he would have been all over it like Slade with a Housewife.

Do you like Food Trucks!?
If you are in Seattle what is your Favorite Food Truck that I should totally search for and find?!

(PS. I recently downloaded the EAT ST. AP for my IPhone offered by Food Network. Get it if you want to search to see if any are around the area you are in! Oh, and go like the MOBILE FOOD TRUCK RODEO Facebook page to keep up to date on all the fun!)

Eat some CORN

Lately, I have been obsessed with Corn. Can your body actually Crave it because mine totally has. This weekend I had a sudden urge for pizza, chocolate milk, and corn. It was like I was in grade school all over again and my school at least served pizza and corn together every.single.time.
I ripped this from google but this is EXACTLY what got served in my school!

It just sounded SO GOOD. So, I went to the store and bought a lot of corn. Trader Joes let me down and didn't any fresh corn on the cob but I got some frozen and then I came home to discover that I had a few cans already in my pantry. I have now eaten corn for the last 3 days in a row and it is sooooooooooooo good. I actually Googled, "Is corn nutritious" today and discovered that yes in fact it is kinda good for you. It provides Fiber & some other stuff that is good for your eyes. This made me feel better about my latest obsession. This is when I miss being in the south just a little. Right now at this time last year I had fresh picked corn on the cob and gallons of fresh blueberries in my house. I need to meet farmers up her or something because I sure am annoyed with having to go purchase blueberries and corn.

In other news, working out is going great and I discovered an awesome Groupon the other day for a 6 week all inclusive gym membership to Vision Quest that I purchased for the hubs and I. It was only $10.00 and that is well worth a break from the less than stellar apartment gym. 4 out of 5 cardio machines do not work correctly and I am so excited there is a sauna at this gym! I cannot wait to go and SWEAT out all my toxins. I haven't used one regularly since college and I LOVED it back then.

I also need new kicks.
That will be in another post but hit me with some suggestions people!

Alex as Christian!?

Holy sheeeeeet!

So, while I was innocently watching E! the other night the beautiful Alexander Skarsgard came on my TV at the Battleship movie premier for an interview. First off..probs not seeing that movie in the theater it looks like Transformers and I don't even understand how they are going to make Battleship the game turn into a movie. Toats confused but I digress...

BACK to Alex aka Eric aka Adonis (Although, he has been looking a little skinny lately- please put on some more muscle circa True Blood Season one) They asked him about if he was asked to be apart of the 50 Shades of Gray movie (this is an AMAZINGLY dirty book that I read awhile back after hearing about it being a slutty Twilight; However, no vampires just Seattle) I love to read especially trashy books judge me if you will.
Back to Alex!
He said something along the lines of, "No, I haven't been asked or talked to anyone but I heard a little bit about it and there is something about dungeons and S&M sex in the book and well, I do have experience with that from True Blood so yes, I'll do it. Call me."

OMFG!!!

Photobucket

I can't even control myself. He would be the PERFECT Christian Gray. He would play the moody/messed up/sex God that is Christian perfectly. He will have to dye his hair dark brown and beef up a little in my opinion but he is perfect for this part and my mind is made up.
Call him whoever is doing the movie. Don't be a dumbass.

I can't wait. True Blood starts soon as well! My Sunday nights are about to get a lot hotter.

I leave you with these... you're welcome.

Take me out to the BALL game!!!

The Monday before Haley left me (so rude) we decided to go to our very first Major League Baseball game. It's so exciting to live in an area with professional sports! There is just nothing like the energy that sports bring out; although, they all get paid way to freaking much.

Haley was telling me about a workout shirt thing she had seen on Pinterest and we agreed that we should go to Ross and buy cheap Seattle Mariners shirts and cut them all up!

I think we are trying out for the next season of project runway now....
cheesin.

Olive was not impressed

Finished products!

Go Mariners!

Then it was time to head to the game on a beautiful Monday night!

Ain't nothing better than some fresh cut grass y'all.

Proud to be an American.

Magical photo skills.

Something inapropriate was said
Gotta love the quality.
The best we could do people.

And let's not even talk about the food. It was a wild day...think hot dogs, Philly cheese steaks, chicken tenders, fries, nachos, bottomless soda refills & Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Now, I didn't eat all of that but between 3 people it's a lot! I'm happy to report I'm loosing on the scale - I did GOOD while Haley was in town (lost a solid 2lbs!) and that is the best achievement I've had in awhile! We usually eat every yummy thing we can think of when we are together...and oh it's glorious.

I had NO CLUE they would offer such an amazing treat at a Baseball game
(I didn't see any boiled peanuts though...this southern girl misses those babies)

That boy loves him some chocolate covered strawberries...and nuts.

Do YOU like Baseball?
- I love baseball but sadly CK gets bored and always wants to leave early, "to avoid traffic." I could watch Live baseball/softball everyday - makes me miss all those years I played!!!
