I'm tapering! Yea, that's it.

As of lately I have not been wanting to run at all.
I'm cheating on the treadmill with a (new to me) elliptical type machine that really works the back of my thighs and my ass. Like hurts so good. Bound and determined (not really) to run tonight I got on the treadmill to run a mile but then I just thought to myself after a whopping .30 mile, "screw this shit I don't wanna do it I'm getting on the other machine" CK was working out with me and since there is only 2 cardio machines in our apt gym I made him switch with me. Good thing he doesn't hate the treadmill right now and I got on my little gem and worked this big ass out.
However, I feel like a failure at running and like I went from running 5 miles (biggest achievement of my life) to wanting to kill myself over the .30 I tried to do tonight. But then after dinner and while watching some scary TV in honor of Halloween I was reading one of my favorite blogs and I figured it out... I'm tapering. Or at least this is what I'm going to tell myself so I can feel better about it. You ask, Terri what are you tapering for? Well, nothing damnit I'm just going to stop running as long and hard right now and I'm not going to feel guilty about because I'm going to say I'm tapering. There we go. Take that guilt and shove it! I will have my "marathon" next week of oh say... 3 miles just to make this an official taper. Okay, so there is my goal 3 miles on Wednesday....yup. Ready Go.

PS. EATWATCHRUN we were walking in Downtown Kirkland, WA the other day and we saw this and I had to get a picture for you - anytime I see rabbits I think of you (in a totally non stalkerish way..maybe)....
Two big bunnies

and RunningofftheReeses anytime I see a Reese's now I have to eat one because of you. I'm going to have to stop following you if I can't kick that damn habit. Tisk Tisk. Oh, and something is wrong with your 15 things Friday post and I can't open the damn page Wahh!

I also think I took a shower too soon after my spray tan tonight...I'm not as dark as I should be...that's okay though.. I work at a tanning bed now so I'll just get another tomorrow. Oh glory days!

I'd Like to be Black please.

Day 2 of my mom and Haley being into meant going to the Pike's Place Market AKA Terri's Happy Town.

Before we went to Seattle that day Haley and I popped into a local tanning salon to check on prices (I refuse to be white) and something random happened. They were hiring and I thought to myself... "well I guess I could get a little job until I find a real time job up here or CK gets famous" So, I applied, got hired, and today was my first day- it should be pretty fun so, I'm excited about it AND I'm going to be black for Christmas!!!! Yay, Happy Holidays Mississippi. It's also pretty funny that everyone told us before we left MS, "you will never find a job the economy is horrible don't move!" and less than a week in town I've landed a job and CK has a job waiting if he needs one. I'm giving it all to God and Thanking him everyday because this is just another thing that makes me feel like we made the right choice and good things are going to happen. Life is good other than the fact that we have to change over our drivers license's and car tags next week (don't even get me started.)

Anyways, back to last week and the fun adventures with Haley and Sharon:

Oh look it's Sunny in Seattle again...

Fresh Fish!

We got some yummy Giant Donuts for a buck this day and lots of free samples

We also had to go get some of the Worlds Best Mac'n Cheese over at Beecher's
It's a little too Cheesy for me but CK and Mom were Loving it.

That's some serious stuff.
Haley scored a free sample (don't ask how) that was basically this size as well

Sunset in Downtown

I think we look the best in the light

After our downtown adventure I had another mission to torcher them with.
Sharon! Find the nearest Bed Bath & Beyond - I've got gift cards and I need my Calphalon cookware set RIGHT NOW! I had been waiting to get this set for months, and months, and months - it was my dream (yes, I said dream) to get this cook set and now it's all mine!
Pure happiness!

I've already used it a ton and I am very happy with my over $650.00 purchase, and HELL NO I didn't pay that for it. Coupons people, coupons! Discounts and gift cards make the world go round.

Now, I've got to go to the gym and shower before CK's open mic tonight.
PS. I've been doing really good with eating and working out this week, probably because we were broke bored and we have a free gym at the apartment. I'm going to start doing better with my work out posts. Let me just tell you though there is a new (to me) machine in our gym and my ass I am LOVING it. I'll snap a picture soon. Also, if I sound bitter or snappy about it being "sunny" in Seattle it's just due to the fact that before we left MS everyone and I do mean Everyone had to let us know that it always rains in Seattle. No really are you sure? It just boggles my mind that people think we would move to a place where we didn't know it rains a lot or the weather/climate for that area. OF COURSE WE KNOW SEATTLE DOESN'T HAVE THE BEST WEATHER but it is not hell all the time.
It's only been 2 weeks but we are still loving it so NAH.

Baaa-Nanas!

I've been watching a marathon of my favorite nutcase today in order to catch up for the Finale tonight!

I absolutely love this woman even though she is wayyyyy too tiny in my opinion but I think her having the baby really helped her. She has never looked more beautiful and let us not forget that I Love Love Love her fashion style and her husband is the cutest thing ever. Even though he makes a fuss that she wants to dress the baby in matching outfits to him once a week, haha SO CUTE!

Look at that stink face, and those diapers are probably vintage.
 Damn babies.

I think Rachel Zoe would approve of my outfit for unpacking the apartment after the movers left last week. My dear friend Kerri got married a few years ago and I found this Gem of a bridesmaid dress in one of the first boxes I unpacked and had to put it on.
Granted its been 4 years almost and it is now to big (yay!) but never the less fabulous:

Haley also found an old Halloween wig... We look Baa-Nanas right Rach?!

The next morning CK wasn't feeling well so Haley, my mom, and me went out on the town to see the sights. It was pretty fun realizing that I was showing them my town now...I'm a less that 48 hour local didn't ya know!?

B-Boppin around has Haley would say

Love this fountain CK & I saw it the first time we came to town years ago and little kids were running down into the water then running out. Should be quite a fun place this summer.

Such a pretty day

Spending time with those two ladies makes me very happy.
Now I'm sad looking back on these pictures realizing they are gone. Wahhhh!
PS. Aren't we lovely when we shower and put makeup on!

Later that night we headed to the grocery store and couldn't decide what we wanted for dinner. We eventually made up our minds and the first "meal" that I cooked in our new apartment was grill cheese and soup! Campbell's of course because I was still to tired/lazy to make anything from scratch - vegetable for them and chicken noodle for me.

It was just what the doctor ordered.

Now, Shut it down.

Welcome Home

Getting to Seattle at 5am has its perks.
The city is absolutely beautiful early in the morning and even though I was still passing in and out I was excited when I was awake to be in my new home with my cars. It's just crazy to think that we drove our cars across the country and they were not going back to Mississippi.
We rolled up to J's apartment and I'm sure he questioned himself as to who were these ugly, exhausted, scary looking people? Surely they weren't the friends that he once knew. Oh J, it's us in all of our 24 hour driving glory! We went upstairs and promptly all tried to go to bed but the Road Dog Olive was wide awake and ready to play. She was such and amazing road dog the whole trip and basically slept the entire time so of course when we got out of the car she was ready to run a marathon. My response to this was 3 hours of TRYING to sleep and then finally giving up and getting up to get ready and head to our new apartment. We basically got NO sleep but we were running off of excitement and headed off to get all of the paperwork finished so we could get in our new apartment. After all of that was said and done we had arrived and then they told me that we could paint our walls. Really? I can PAINT. Seriously? Okay I haven't slept in 35 hours but this sounds fabulous-Mom, GPS the nearest home depot right now! I am such a evil and sick person to make them paint a few accent walls in my new apartment after no one has had any sleep. I still can't believe no one refused; everyone just went along with it... and then in the middle of the painting I crumbled and fell apart crying asking WHY did I do this to us... WHY!?

Unloading the cars

Why yes, those are the same clothes and the same dirty faces.

And then I made everyone paint:
This was when I started crying and my mother thought she would cheer me up by painting "Baby making room" on the wall. I just cried harder...I'm not ready for kids Sharon!
I love how I'm crying like a baby and everyone writes sweet I love you's to me on the wall.. really people I've torchered you all day long, all week long, and you are trying to cheer me up!? My family and friends spoil me.

Later that night we went back to J's to let the paint dry,to sleep in beds, and of course hang out with the coolest guy ever! After a fun night at J's the next morning our movers came and unloaded all of our shit -also, let me just state that these guys were AMAZING! I can't even begin to explain how awesome they are and if they read this  I LOVE YOU! (Hey, It's possible we are Facebook friends now)
Sharon Supervising

Greg unloading my 100lb boxes in to the apartment.

Bedroom

We are all just praising Jesus that we didn't have to carry everything upstairs and looking fabulous.

"We did it!"

Whoops the lotion exploded in the bag. No problem we will just make a lotion cup.

And then came Haley's whole reason for coming.
Making sure that we are properly protected and that if a killer tries to get us we can Mace him!

The Knights are Home!

Until Next time....

Hey, Lets drive from WY to WA in one day!

Sureeee, why not?

Let me just say this first:

This was the dumbest idea I have ever had and I still can't believe my Husband, Mother, and Best Friend agreed to this... they should have just slapped me but no we ended up driving 1,030 miles in ONE DAY. We were seriously driving from 5:30am to 5:00am the NEXT morning. Now, let me explain...

After visiting Mt. Rushmore and Devil's Tower we were exhausted, grumpy, and I was ready to kill everyone and anything I came into contact with. The theme for this Road trip was, "Don't poke the Bear" and I was the bear. Anytime anyone would start irritating me I would say "Don't poke the Bear" and it would be a funny way to relieve tension. Well, the bear was poked and about to eat every human in sight so we decided to cut our day short and stop in at a hotel in Sheridan, WY. This was a decent hole in the wall motel and Haley was sure she was going to be murdered but alas, things were fine. We woke up EARLY the next morning and skipped the workouts so that we could get on the road quicker. Our original goal was to get to Seattle the next night around 1AM. Little did we know what was in store for us that day.
The RED marks our route through Yellowstone National Park

It is all Yellowstone's fault you can't drive fast through there and it is GIGANTIC. It was beautiful don't get me wrong and I am glad that we went through it and saw what we did but CK and I both agreed we would be fine with never going again. Freaking wilderness.

We hit the road early and the outfit theme for this day was comfy, comfy, comfy, and warm.
Sweats and hoodies/jackets it is!
Coffee and Hot Chocolate CHECK!

Then we headed to Cody, WY where we didn't realize we would be driving UP and DOWN a Icy, Snowy MOUNTAIN. Haley was driving and when the light rain started not hitting the windshield anymore I realized it was now snowing... once I told Haley this she denied it the proceeded to freak out about going up the Mountain in snow. It was then my turn to drive again... and a photo op:

Snow!

Olive wondering what the hell is going on

Things were fine until we started getting higher and the roads started getting whiter...at one point we seriously couldn't see the road at all BUT Momma and I pulled us through and eventually we got to Yellowstone.

Sweat pants do wonders for your figure people.

It was an absolutely beautiful drive

Hello, Yellowstone!

Sulfur filled the air (it is on top of a Volcano!)
My little happy family

Then we decided to get wild and climb on top of the rocks and my mother was NOT happy about it but all was well nothing exploded and no one died.

"Look Ma, No Hands!"

The geysers were absolutely beautiful

Journey to the center of the earth

How beautiful is this? Not me.. my  mom and the Lake behind us

I was hoping to see a child demonstrate this. I'm evil I know.

Then we waited for an HOUR AND A HALF to see OLD FAITHFUL blow.
She took forever and we didn't end up getting out of the "park" until 4:30pm.
We were supposed to leave by 1pm at the latest. Set back #1. While we were waiting for the geyser to blow a bunch of Buffalo Roamed near us and freaked me out. They were HUGE and less than 300 yards away from where we were sitting. People were actually walking right up to them... I was waiting for this one chick to get trampled but she was lucky that day.

Then she BLEW!
Still blowing... she lasted around 20 minuets.

Then we had to hit the ROAD. At this point I was still under the impression that we could get to Seattle around 1am and get to our friend J's house but little did I know... LITTLE DID I KNOW.

Oh, and I bet you're thinking... Wow this is a really long post I hope it ends soon. Oh NO people. This post will reflect the day we had and we are only at 4:30pm.... mahahhahaha.

It took FOREVER to get out of Yellowstone and up to Montana but but when we did we had to stop for another road sign picture:

Looking bald and fabulous.

Driving across Montana took forever but then we hit Idaho and we all knew that we didn't have a long time to drive to get to Washington! It was late, like 11pm, CK had already driven on the WRONG side of the Interstate once... and we were all about to fall asleep at the wheel but we couldn't stop. I refused to be 3 hours away and get a hotel room. (I'm an idiot and it was more like 5.5 hours away!)

That didn't stop us from pulling over in the middle of the night on the side of a Mountain to get the IDAHO state sign pictures!

We were delirious at this point.

Crazy people!

We got back in our cars and headed to Washington. The state of Washington sucks for putting their state sign in the middle of the interstate instead of on the side of the road so we couldn't stop to get a picture! I was Very sad about this but at that point we said screw it we just wanted to GET THERE ALREADY. We rolled into Spokane, WA around 12:30am. That's when I realized we still had to drive across the entire state of Washington aka 4-5 more hours. It was at that point that I refused to stop. It was a damn mission now and if my mom agreed to keep driving I would drive the other car and we would make it damnit.
Well, my mom is a BEAST and can drive better than any trucker out there and agreed to this crazy mission. I however, started driving and about 50 miles in started falling asleep. I was exhausted and it was getting dangerous even though I was drinking a Rockstar and eating sugar to try and stay awake. That just made me sick and want to pass out even more. CK had to take over driving and he did so good. I say this because I keep passing out randomly for the next 4 hours and was completely useless as a driving partner. In the end we were barely awake but we rolled into J's around 5am. It was a totally HELL DAY and I can't believe we did it but we made it and except for that last day it was an AMAZING time. Hell, even that last day was great due to the fact it was something that none of us will EVER do to ourselves again.

However, I didn't stop punishing the people I love the most there, oh no I had another full day in store for us that I didn't even realize yet. Tune in tomorrow for that one.
