Wedding Week!

My life is one big whirlwind right now. Let me explain:

I'm getting married THIS Saturday. OMG
I have 1,000,000 BILLION things to do.
I had to work today & tomorrow.
Family is arriving in town Wednesday.
NONE of them remember what I tell them hence the SAME question being asked 1,000 times & me wanting to kill myself.

I need to workout, I need to tan, I need to not get any bruises.

I want to ENJOY this week but Y'all (in a southern drawn out whiny voice) "I'm tired."

Details are getting done... things are happening ready or NOT.

& Sunday we are flying off to the Bahamas to stay HERE and I cannot WAIT.

Weddings are so crazy all you think is: BIG DAY! BIG DAY! BIG DAY!
I keep forgetting I'm going to the Bahamas and I swear I'm even more pumped about that! Talk about a yummy cherry on top of a delicious sundae.

PS. I want some no bake cookies. (will resist all bad things until after the wedding)

I promise I'll post soon... I have so much to blog about but no energy it seems...

Don't give up on me yet.

I'll be back.

DISCLAIMER*** Cussing & Graphic details are in this post...a lot.

What in the HELL was I thinking?!?

This is going to be the bitchiest blog ever. I cannot f-ing believe how much pain my ass is in. It feels like I have been raped by a 750lb gorilla that broke my tail bone in the process. It feels as though a war has gone down in my box. I am so freaking frustrated with Spin class. After the first class last Thursday my butt hurt and I could barley get in and out of my car the next day. When I say "butt" I mean BOX - the whole entire vagina bone and ass bone area = BOX. After the first class I was hooked. I absolutely love the feeling and how hard the teacher pushed me (see previous post) and the only downside was how bad my box hurt the next day. I was told by the other people in the class and the teacher that it just takes time to get "used" to the seat and it will be painful for the first few times.

JESUS BIBLE it was MORE than painful this time.

I even went out and bought a seat cover and tried it out for the first time tonight. STUPID FUCKING SEAT COVER. Okay, I'm getting a little out of hand right now but you will have to forgive me since my box is currently throbbing. (I just yelled at Chad because he said my name oops) Anyways, I have never and I mean NEVER almost cried while working out. I got so frustrated that I actually said the F word and Shit out loud in the class while Usher's "Yea" was jamming and these 2 disgusting girls tried to dance and sing "lady in the street freak in the bed"

Seriously - BARF.

I'm a bitch and you are only allowed to act like that around me if:
A. you're hot, B. I know you and you're my friend, C. I am not about to cry, D. You're not in a room full of old people and in a freaking spin class. I digress...

So, back to me almost crying - I am so disappointed in myself.
I consider myself a bad ass at working out and I felt like a total baby tonight. I couldn't concentrate on my spinning workout because all I could think about is how much my box hurt. I mean I could NOT stay seated. I spent most of the class standing and it was so hard. We did a full hour tonight with lots of rolling hills and tons of cardio and I completed it all but I just feel very defeated.

I will go back.
I've decided that I'm going to give it 10 trys. I've done 2 classes so far and if I went off of tonight I would be done with spinning but I don't want to stop because I really like the teacher and I feel the workout is going to do amazing things to my body. However, I just don't feel like a workout is supposed to hurt that badly on a part of your body you aren't even working out!

If any of my readers spin PLEASE give me some advice or encouragement... this girl is bitchy and beat but I don't want to stop!

End of the world shopping

I'm serious about this spinning business.

In preparation for the "end of the world" tomorrow the FI and I took care of a few things tonight.
  1. I got my hair did
  2. We went to dinner
  3. We went shopping

Dear Lord, I love you and I'm now ready whenever you are.
Love - Terri

Back to the shopping... It was a successful trip to Target tonight; the following items were purchased:

A teal dress, a black swimsuit, green shorts, skirt, pop chips, paper, and ribbon.

However, the top two most LOGICAL items purchased together were these:

A bike seat cover for spin class and my personal bike. I wasn't kidding when I talked about how much my ass hurt. It is even worse today... you should see me trying to get in and out of my car. Hilarious.

Oh noo, the beast attacks!

My seat cover Olive bear!

and then... the reason for the seat cover, was purchased.

Target COCONUT COOKIES.
I'm not kidding there is heaven in the middle of these.

ahh thank GOD the FI loves them... he has almost eaten the entire box which means I haven't had the chance to yet and I really don't need all those extra calories.

Haha what a good sport for taking a guilty blog pic.

"I can't believe I ate the whole thing"

My ass hurts.

DUDE. Spinning is AMAZING!

Like I said in a previous post I wanted to try spinning and I had made up my mind to go for it when I got back from my Bachelorette weekend. Well, I forgot about it Monday and just went to do my normal running and cardio routine (which was awesome and a great first day back after a dirty dirty weekend) Anyways, once I had realized I forgot I was determined to go tonight for my FIRST time. I was a little apprehensive as to how it was going to go being that I just recently started incorporating the bike in my cardio routine but I was excited and ready to push myself.

I got to the gym about 15 mins before the class started because I wanted to meet the instructor and learn how to set up my bike for my height & weight etc. It made me feel like I was in college again and going to meet my teacher (ya know sucking up) and get a front row seat. Yes, I'm sorta a nerd. So, I walk into the room and I'm the first one there; (Perfect) I introduce myself to the older male teacher who instantly I get a cocky/hardcore vibe from. I'm thinking Awesome I'm about to get my ass kicked - which is EXACTLY what I want from an instructor. He showed me what my height should be (10), how to strap my feet into the pedals, how to turn up and down my resistance, how to get out of the foot straps (very important). This took a few mins so if you are going to your first class make sure to get there early so you can learn because now I am set for any future spin class I choose to take.

Onto the class... WOW, it started off with a warm up that then lead in to a good kind of hell. The main thing to keep is mind is NEVER STOP PEDDLING. Even if you weren't keeping up with the class just keep moving for 1 solid hour. I loved the instructor he was pushing us to do rolling hills, sprints, stand ups, back flips, and there was no pity - no remorse - there was PUSH! I really love this kind of challenge probably even more than the workout. I have always been competitive and when I am in a room of people it makes me work harder. (why didn't I start doing these classes sooner?!) In summary the class was hard but when it was over I felt AMAZING! The only complaint is the little seats - my booty is sore already and she is not a happy camper right now. I mean really, WHY can't they have a nice cushion seat? I don't think a little extra softness and wider seat would lessen the workout. Anyways, as, we were putting up our bikes the teacher came over to me and asked how I liked it to which I expressed my new found love for! He said I did amazing for my first time (ahh yayyy I LOVE getting noticed in a good way ;) and hoped that I would be back. I assured him that I will see him on Mondays and Thursdays from now on. Oh, and he blared the best music in the room LOVED IT. I can't wait for Monday to have my second go - well, if the class isn't full yet.

I only wish I could figure out how many miles we did and how many calories I burned. The instructor said I probably burned around 700 calories in 53mins and did around 14-15 miles.

 I'm pretty pleased with that.

Question for all of my awesome athletic friends:

What kind of heart rate/mile calculator/calorie counter watch thing do you suggest?! What brand do you use? Approximate cost and your Pro's & Con's ???

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Krista! To answer your question when I say "monkey bars" I mean this thing:

I say monkey bars because thats what it makes me feel like I think it's technically called a pull up station.

I do this move (3 sets of 12 right now):

and this one (2 sets of 3):

The pitcures are not of me sadly. I refuse to take pictures of me working out right now... maybe in 50 more lbs. hahahah I move up how many I do every week... its all about starting slow and building up for me :)

We pick you!

This weekend was an absolute blast!
- Part 1-
It started out like this:
My MOH Haley & friend Amanda picked me up at 6:30pm Thursday and we headed to the "shore house" Gulf Shores, AL that is. As soon as I got off work at 5 that day I had a few beers...hey they were cold & I was READY.

It may have been the most enjoyable car ride ever.

They also got me this:

Yes, I have NO shame & I wore it ALL weekend.

Thursday Night we got to the shore house which is a MANSION btw & Nicole & Katie were waiting on us. We ended up staying up ALL night because we are CRAY CRAY and decided to tell scare stories and frighten the ever living shit out of ourselves. Nicole who does like sleeping with others could not sleep alone so Haley & I joined her in the master suite for a whopping 3.5 hours of sleep. EPIC FAIL.

After our amazing  night sleep Friday was WONDERFUL! I was dragging and somehow forgot to eat Thursday Night and we had to go to the spa at 11 for a day of massages and pedicures. (WHO has the BEST friends in the world! MEEEE) Haley & I got finished at 2ish and I was about to pass out or punch someone if I didn't eat. When I don't eat I get that faint feeling and irritable like no other. However, since I was fully relaxed and more happy than ever there was no anger just faint sickness setting in. We ended up shopping a little and then finally getting some french fries and a grill cheese at a little sugar shack thing. Not the kind of filling healthy food I wanted BUT that bread did the trick and I was alive.

I wanted to take a nap so bad but when Haley & I crawled in bed there was no sleep for me. Boo.

Later that night everyone got to the house: Katie, Nicole, Amanda, Haley, Laura, Andrea, & Katelyn.

We went out to PAPA ROCCO'S my FAVORITE Italian in Alabama.

The following are a few pictures I snapped of this adventure. Andrea has the good ones I'll be posting when I get them - she is the professional:

Some of the group waiting our 45 min wait out for a table..that was really 4.5 mins. Gotta love it when that happens!
They must have found out we are VIP

Group shot minus Katelyn she didn't get into town until later that night

& Now for some of my favorite crazy pictures:

These older gentlemen bought us shot after shot and of course had to tell me a little marriage advice... ugh thanks?!

Marriage counseling (and apparently the FI and I are getting married on this guys birthday)

Shot # 38237821074835???

And then the rest of the night was a blurrrrr....

Blog part 2 of the Bachelorette weekend will come later. It was just TOO much fun for 1 post to handle!

You spin me right round baby

I need something NEW. Something to push me hard and get this body in shape. I love running, I'm not going to stop but it's time to start doing a new hobby that my body isn't used to and that will make it go, "holy hell what did you just do to me"

Spinning Class

My  new best friend that I met at the Day in the Park 5k came up to me at the gym last night with his wife and started talking to me about trying out the class. BTW his wife is seriously super sweet. This couple is around their late 50's I would say but they were just so nice & it made me feel good. I've also been watching the biggest loser and they do a lot of spinning. So, on Mondays & Thursdays starting next week I will spin. I'll keep you guys posted on how much it hurts me and hopefully how much good it does me.

Famous Spinner Bodies:

They say a 40min class burns around 500 calories

I'm excited!

Also, I'll be out of town starting tomorrow at 5pm for my Bachelorette Beach Weekend! See you next week bloggers!

WORKOUT: 10mins Eliptical .75mile, 20mins Mill 1.35mile (hill training), 20min bike ride 3.52mil & Monkey Bars

Surround yourself with beauty & greatness

I don't know if I ever consciously decided that I would only collect talented friends throughout my life but somehow that happened.

I am the luckiest girl in the world because I have the most amazing and talented friends ever. Let me do a rundown to make you jealous:

Kerri Welch - Besties since high school. She is an AMAZING hair stylist (remember the extensions) and owns her own hair salon in Madison, MS STATIC A SALON (aka the LA of MS)

Haley Skeen - Besties since 2003. She is an AMAZING make-up artist that has model looks and a heart bigger than Donald Trumps ego.

Nicole Cotten - A one of the kind Head Bitch that would kill someone for you. She is the most intelligent person I've ever met with a heart of gold, oh and insanely beautiful.

Chad Knight - I'm gonna marry this one so that in itself should explain how amazing he truly is. He is a workhouse that does his best every moment of the day and never complains. (that's my job. Yup, I was voted most likely to complain in high school) He will be famous one day I believe it with every ounce of my heart and I feel like I was put on this Earth to help make that happen for him.

Andrea Thornhill- Met in college and fell in love. Yes, I'm serious- I love this girl more than words can explain, we ran the Sociology Department at USM and she is the perfect yang to my ying so to say. We have had some amazing adventures together and even though we might not see each other every week, when we get together we just pick up where we left off. She is the most talented photographer I know. She recently took our engagement pictures (that I'm about to show you) and everything she does she does with integrity and focus. I admire that and so many other things about her.

I'm truly a friend snob. Mine are better than yours.

I'm not sure what they see in me sometimes other than when I'm your friend I'm your biggest fan and biggest support. I'd do anything for these people and all of my other amazing friends that I didn't have time to list. (trust me they are all amazing)

Oh, but don't rule me out - I'm always looking for new amazing people to befriend and in all honesty... I really think every single person in this world has something amazing to offer. Some people just choose to ignore their greatness and others choose to cultivate it.

Here are some Sneak peeks at the FI & I's photo session!:

Newspaper Announcement Picture!

I am in love with this one

excuse the crazy hand

I love this one too

Thank you Andrea for making us look so good and for being a wonderful friend all these years! I love you more than money. (and that's a LOT)

Day in the Park 5k

Today was the day. The day of the race. The day in the Park.

Let me just go ahead and start off by posting my Results: 5k #3 Time PR 44.15 Happpppppy Terri.

The goal was to try and get under 40 but you know what, this was the hilliest race EVER. I should be use to this route, it is basically a circle around my Apartment down 6th Ave. to downtown Laurel then back up 5th Ave back to the park. (We live inbeween these 2 Ave. on an alleyway street in an old duplex that is the cutest thing you could hope to live in in Laurel, MS) I run 5th & 6th Avenues all the time but getting to and from that Park is the tough part. Up & Down - Straight & Curvy - Flat & Angled Pavement... sheesh lets kill me why don't we! It was tough for me and I have decided I might be horrible at "racing". I get toooo excited when I start and run way to fast, then I have to walk and I don't have a "speed" walk mode I just start walking. FAIL Anyways, I then get into my pace and I ran the whole rest of the way. When I say "ran" I mean jogged about as fast as speed walkers. I Hate speed walkers. I also Hate people that are behind you the whole race and then right before you cross the finish line doing your pace they RUN right past you.

Bitch you didn't run that race like that at all you  just wanted to sneak in there and beat me at the last second!!!? For what reason dude, It's not like I was going to get a trophy for my 44.15 and you will not either for 44.12 Dumbass.

On the plus side + the day started off wonderfully with Chad's friend Hank telling me that I looked good. SCORE to which of course I responded: "What you trying to hit on me?" Gotta love a good laugh first thing in the morning!

The other fun thing that happened was after the race: I was trying to breath and stuff my face with a banana while the FI was telling me how awesome I did when this older man comes up and says, "Hey, you go to the Wellness Center right? I thought that was you, you're always in there and doing great, my wife and I talk about how dedicated you are all the time and how good you're doing" Talk about HELLO to my new best friend! I instantly fell in love with him and started verbal vomiting all over him. Apparently, when I'm deliriously exhausted after a 5k I can't help but try and talk as fast and as energetically as possible to my new bestie. Anyways, he made my day and then we left the park so the FI could go to work. Yea, he runs a race and then goes and works 9 hours and now he is currently at one of his gigs until 1am. BEAST I tell you.

Now, time for pictures:

My HunnyBunny stretching for the race. He loves 5k and I love him even though he is wayyy faster than me - 29 something today I think. He hasn't trained all week and been working 70 hours for the last 3 I don't know where he gets his energy to work like that, run 5k's, and do music gigs all the time. He's a beast.
A Sexy Beast

The FI & I before heading to the race

The 5k group! Kayla, Ginny, Chad, & Me

Chad did the Day in the Park 5k 2 years ago as his first one, then last year these two ladies and I did our First at the South Central Classic. They are married to Chads Best Friends Hank & Kevin (who are twins, how presh.) Check out Kayla's Blog

The rest of my day included Shopping like a mad woman for our couple photos tomorrow morning, getting tons of wedding what-nots, & cleaning our God Awful apartment. It is now MUCH better.

WORKOUT: 5k in 44.15, 4 hours of shopping. YUCK

Funny Gym Joke: There are 3 types of people that go to gyms, Those trying to Get in shape, Those trying to Stay in shape, & Those who are trying to Stay Alive.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH Tons of old people go to our gym aka "wellness center" I about fell on the floor when Chad told me an old guy told him this at our gym.

Extensions are a girls best friend

As some of you may already know I am getting married soon and for this little event I HAD to HAVE long, beautiful, thick, luscious HAIR. Not saying that my hair isn't banging normally but it's thin and feels like it just won't GROW. Well, that's fixed now!

Before:
After:

I feel like a Kardashian

Here are some fun pictures of the process provided by Kerri Welch Owner of Static A Salon Call her to set up your appointment, I promise you WON'T regret it! Now, prepare yourself for prices. Extensions are not cheap (they run between $700-$2000 bones ouch.) and the only reason I splurged was for my wedding... and also I've got a few connections. <3 you K DUB!

Meredith, one of mine and Kerri's best friends was in town for the weekend & spent the day at the salon helping us. There is so much history with the three of us. Besties since high school and they had surprised me with a party the night before. (that will be the next blog!!!) Mer seen below was helping prep my new hair!

Thanks Mer!!

Kerri Getting ready to work her Magic:

Bonding them in. It's really not painful I promise

This is what they look like close up. Thanks mom for taking these pictures!

I know I look eh fabulous here with the 100 extensions all put in BEFORE the cut & Style

Tada! Cut & Styled! I love love love it and the hair is going to be AMAZINGNESSSS on the Big Day!

Thanks Kerbaby I love you endlessly!

The back - This was taken in the Salons FABULOUS bathroom. It is felt wallpaper! Be sure to go to the potty when you go to the salon you don't want to miss those furry walls.

& Then Kerri Decided to spoil us and let us pick out some tinsel to put in our hair! This became popular from the Real Housewife of Beverly Hills - Adrienne Maloof

Mer showcasing the color choices -
PS. Tinsel is wayyyy cooler then those stupid feathers. I'm sorry I'm a feather hater.

Preetttyyy Colorssss - I chose Dark Red sparkly & Mer chose sparkly Tan Goldenness
