Today was the day. The day of the race. The day in the Park.
Let me just go ahead and start off by posting my Results: 5k #3 Time PR 44.15 Happpppppy Terri.
The goal was to try and get under 40 but you know what, this was the hilliest race EVER. I should be use to this route, it is basically a circle around my Apartment down 6th Ave. to downtown Laurel then back up 5th Ave back to the park. (We live inbeween these 2 Ave. on an alleyway street in an old duplex that is the cutest thing you could hope to live in in Laurel, MS) I run 5th & 6th Avenues all the time but getting to and from that Park is the tough part. Up & Down - Straight & Curvy - Flat & Angled Pavement... sheesh lets kill me why don't we! It was tough for me and I have decided I might be horrible at "racing". I get toooo excited when I start and run way to fast, then I have to walk and I don't have a "speed" walk mode I just start walking. FAIL Anyways, I then get into my pace and I ran the whole rest of the way. When I say "ran" I mean jogged about as fast as speed walkers. I Hate speed walkers. I also Hate people that are behind you the whole race and then right before you cross the finish line doing your pace they RUN right past you.
Bitch you didn't run that race like that at all you just wanted to sneak in there and beat me at the last second!!!? For what reason dude, It's not like I was going to get a trophy for my 44.15 and you will not either for 44.12 Dumbass.
On the plus side + the day started off wonderfully with Chad's friend Hank telling me that I looked good. SCORE to which of course I responded: "What you trying to hit on me?" Gotta love a good laugh first thing in the morning!
The other fun thing that happened was after the race: I was trying to breath and stuff my face with a banana while the FI was telling me how awesome I did when this older man comes up and says, "Hey, you go to the Wellness Center right? I thought that was you, you're always in there and doing great, my wife and I talk about how dedicated you are all the time and how good you're doing" Talk about HELLO to my new best friend! I instantly fell in love with him and started verbal vomiting all over him. Apparently, when I'm deliriously exhausted after a 5k I can't help but try and talk as fast and as energetically as possible to my new bestie. Anyways, he made my day and then we left the park so the FI could go to work. Yea, he runs a race and then goes and works 9 hours and now he is currently at one of his gigs until 1am. BEAST I tell you.
Now, time for pictures:
My HunnyBunny stretching for the race. He loves 5k and I love him even though he is wayyy faster than me - 29 something today I think. He hasn't trained all week and been working 70 hours for the last 3 I don't know where he gets his energy to work like that, run 5k's, and do music gigs all the time. He's a beast.
