GO HORNETS!

Being that I'm from Mississippi and New Orleans is a place I go often when it comes to sports I always root for the Saints & Hornets! Granted I do not wave a Saints flag and go crazy because of the whole "bandwagon" accusations. Listen people I remember being 7 years old and watching the Saints always lose. We loved them even then with disgust in our voices because they always sucked. Well, when they started sucking less it got better and better! Hey every team comes around at some point and after dealing with Katrina they created a since of HOPE that I had never seen from the chocolate city before.

The Hornets, a newer team are awesome. I have been to a couple of games in the last 3 years with the FI and they are SO MUCH FUN! I never really got into basketball until I saw it live. I highly suggest everyone to try on a game even if you think you hate the sport. It really is the most energetic box of fun you can come into contact with. Sit close too, the $$ is worth it!

We are currently watching the LA vs. NOLA game... it's going to be a close one obviously being that the Lakers who I do love are one of the best teams in the free world but my love and HOPE goes to NOLA. Come on guys you can do it!

Lets come back to the HORNETS NEST NEXT Thursday night!

The first Hornets game we went to VS. The Suns

CK loves Shaq and most the games we went to see were so he could see him. I personally thought KaZaam was Shaq's best performance ever. hahahahahah

But that was the night when I fell in love with Hornets Baskeball.

KOBE! I love you but it's time for CHRIS PAUL to smack you dowwwwwwn!

Why do I feel like this!?

It's such and odd feeling to feel guilty for not working out. In the past I've often felt guilty for a number of other things: 1. eating too much, 2. being mean, 3. thinking bad thoughts, & etc. But felling guilty about not going to the gym has been a recent development. I am so tired, I didn't sleep a wink last night and my legs and body are so sore I haven't been walking, I've been "wobbling" all day. I don't need to make excuses but I feel like I do. THIS IS NUTS! I'm still going to be hitting the gym 5 times this week not 6, but for some reason I have an annoying feeling of guilt. I know in my head my body needs to rest and it is SCREAMING for rest but.... sheesh I'm addicted. I'm am completely addicted to the results I'm getting. My legs have never looked better and I just can't wait to keep the results coming...but I need to release this guilt because it's driving me nuts.

Oh well, better the gym than sex, drugs, or rock n' roll.
hmm... on second thought.

WORKOUT: 24hours of Nothing, Nada, Zip. Zilch

On a fishy note- I am now a MASTER of cooking FISH. Yes, the things that swim around in the ocean and ponds and rivers... you get the idea. The secret is Lemon Juice people! It takes all the fishy fishyness out of the actual FISH. Weird right..but deliciously true.

That little tasty fish is tilapia pan sauteed with a little olive oil.

Directions: Use fresh or thawed fish sprinkle salt on both sides with a little Tony's seasoning. Put a tablespoon or so of Olive oil in a HOT frying pan. Let the oil get hot then place fish into pan. Let cook on the first side for a few mins (2-3) then add a tablespoon of Lemon Juice in the pan. The juice will start to bubble and let the fish cook on that side for another min or two. Flip the fish and add another tablespoon of lemon juice. Let cook for 3 or 4 mins and then flip again. You can turn the heat off and let it finish cooking flipping occasionally to get your desired crispyness. Steam some broccoli and Enjoy!!! I eat this about 3-4 times a week I LOVE it.

yummy in my tummy.

I whip my hair back & forth

The following is tribute to the Fresh Princes daughter Willow Smith:

I whip my hair back and forth.

WORKOUT: Easter Bonus workout - 2 miles outside running the neighborhood in 28mins (sucky suck suck I know) Let me just state that I had no intention of working out today until I was looking on facebook at some friend bikini pictures. That was all the motivation I needed to throw in an extra workout this week. I'm going to try really hard to go the next 4 days straight so I can get a 6 day workout week in. It's crunch time & I've got a date with a trainer friend tomorrow at 6pm to throw some new stuff at me. Pray for me people & my legs because they are super sore!

Blame it on the Alcohol

Jamie has the right idea and this morning I was definitely blaming it.

Last night was amazing. CK had a show at Brady's this pub thing you could say in Jackson, MS & this meant that I would be returning to my old stomping grounds and getting the chance to see all of my friends I grew up with. Some were out of town, some were just lame and didn't come, BUT a ton of them did! I love these people and nights like last night make me miss living in Jackson so much. That's were I grew up as a child and got into all my trouble as a teenager. In high school I couldn't wait to get out and do my own thing in a brand new place. So, then came college and my adult adventures began. (This in no way means I have a secrete porn career) Luckily my life hasn't come to that point where I would need to dive into the adult entertainment field. I've always had an issue with body fluids anyway..but back to my point. Going back to Jackson now means that I get to see my people and boy do I miss them everyday I'm stuck in Laurel, MS.

I blame: 2 for 1 drinks, ridiculously fun people, good music, dancing, and lack of sleep.

I blamed them the whole morning at the gym. Yes, I dragged my hungover tail to the gym to run my 3 miles. (Or so I had planned) I do not work out on Fridays, I feel that is a sin to go to the gym after a long and annoying week at work and when Friday at 5pm comes it's time to go home and unwind. I just can't mentally get into working out on a Friday and I probably never will as long as I work full time. Anyways, after taking Friday off usually on Saturdays I sleep late and head to the gym to pound out a really good session. Not today! Not saying that I sucked but it was just miserable and lack luster. Five Rum & diets (Skinnybitches) and dancing all night had my body funky and my legs sore.

Workout: 40 mins treadmill 2.84miles (22mins running 1.75 miles) & the rest of the time on 8.0 incline with various rest periods.

I had REALLY wanted to do 3 miles in 36mins but I just couldn't. My legs were so sore to begin with that after the first 12min mile I had to take a break. Weak I know, but you read above what I blamed it on. (Hopefully you're listing to it right now) I then went to tan and got even hotter and MORE dehydrated since I didn't eat or drink anything before the workout and I was feeling faint. What do I do you ask? Of course I go to Snowbiz and get a kiddie Coconut shaved ice amazingness! I also picked one up for CK since he was stuck at work (and still is 12 hours later) to take to him because I love him and has been working like crazy lately. He is a grape man and I decided he should get a Large because after all men should eat more than women right? Oh, and hes sexy sexy so it doesn't really matter what he eats. Bastard.

Here are some pictures from last night and the wonderful people I got to spend it with. Lookout Jackson: I'll be back next weekend and it's going to be funnnnnnnnn.

Carrie - Kelly - Moi - Wil

My nurses Laura & Katie (I love being friends with nurses they are great to have around to keep you alive)

Run Forrest Run

Okay, so my name isn't Forrest but you get the picture. I started reading RUNNING blogs. Yes, you read right, RUNNING blogs. Now, I know the first thing you're thinking is, "boy what a boring thing to talk about" but seriously you're so wrong. I am in Love, like more in love than I am with my Chaddypoo. Only joking - kinda - anyways Let me give you some background:

Hi, my name is Forrest Terri and I am was a fat ass. Okay, so my ass is still fat but its not as fat as it once was. I have almost lost 50lbs since last June - 3 lbs stand between that 50 and me but I weigh in tomorrow and hope to knock those 3 off my ass. My main motivation to lose weight started out for my wedding but now the motivation comes from being healthy and is a lifestyle change. I'm going to throw this out there and you can throw it back or actually listen because it's the truth: DIETS DO NOT WORK. So, if you want to know my diet sorry, I don't have one.

It's a lifestyle change of making better food choices and creating exercise routines that always keep you challenging yourself. Anyways, I'm not gonna preach or go into my lifestyle as of today this post is about my new obsession with running and running blogs.

My inspiration and absolute favorite hands down is:

She is funny, pretty (yes, that's important I'm shallow what can I say),  an unknowitall, unprofessional runner, and a total bad ass. She runs with no program, no rules, no problems, and just recently did 2 yes, TWO 26.2 mile marathons in 1 yes, ONE weekend! This girl has seriously inspired me.

I love working out, I go about 5 times a week now for the last few months *hey the wedding is almost here* and I have gone from not being able to jog 1 minute because I couldn't catch my breath and the bouncing of my fat ass was throwing me into the treadmill. While I'm sure everyone at the gym was like, "that girls gonna break the dame treadmill someone tell her to stop" However, I kept running and building up my stamina thinking "screw you skinny jerks I will break this damn machine if I want to I'm not gonna stop."

Then I did my first 5k and I was a fool. I was not ready, I drank the night before, didn't get a lot of sleep, and arrived late the morning of the race. However, I finished in an astounding 58 minutes flat. Preeeettttty impressive I must say. I was shocked when that time didn't get me a medal.

Then we go back to the gym, still not caring at all about running really, I just knew that every time I did it I felt everything that I wanted to go away on my body shake and giggle... so, in my thinking that if we (yes, I'm talking about myself as a we) make these things giggle surely they will fall off eventually. I started building up time. I ran 1 minuet non stop.. WOW, that was amazing to do my calvs felt like they were going to explode and it took 2 minuets to get my breath back..but I had done it. A WHOLE minuet! Then it got better, 1 min became 2, 3, 4, 5 and when I got to that 5 I thought I was really ballin, and HEY it was! I'm still proud of it I don't care who makes fun of me.

Lets speed up a little because I need to go to the gym now and I can't stop this post without finishing the damn story. Okay, here comes 5k number 2. It was cold, but I was more prepared for it this time. I did not drink the night before! I got good sleep! & I got to the place late but not as late as the first one! Score.

Basically, I think I was just up to running 5 mins at a time during this point and in total my only goal was to do better than the first 5k. Mission accomplished I shaved 8 mins off my time finishing this 5k at 50mins and some odd seconds I don't remember. Listen that is my Personal Record right now but I plan on Shattering it May 7th. 5k number 3 awaits and THIS GIRL is more ready than ever. I have now conquered a 12 min mile and yesterday I ran a mile and half nonstop at that pace and I felt like I could have done 2 miles (I only stopped because I didn't want to make anyone else embarrassed at my awesomeness.) There are 2 weeks left before the race and I have the goal of running the whole 5k nonstop at that pace or whatever pace I can do it at. I really feel like I can do it, and reading these running blogs makes me even more excited about running.

I like SkinnyRunner so much because she talks about running 26.2 miles like its going out to pick up some milk. She is not like "omg my legs are falling off I can't believe I can do this" I love that, it makes me not mentally screw myself into thinking that skinny bitch can barely do it how in the hell am I going to do it. Instead I feel that hey, its no big thing, come on legs move.

So, Thank you Skinny Runner. Thank you all running blogs, you make me want to run - not only to lose the rest of my weight but to gain everything else I've always wanted.

I'm going to start posting about my workouts, just little cliff notes at the bottom of posts and I'm going to do a half marathon this year. Yes, I am and no.. it's not a big deal because its only 13.1 miles.

PS. This is for me and only me, I need no partner, no medals, no push.

I just need these blogs because they are great & I love reading about other peoples lives. Ima Stalker

-----------------------------------------
Update: Workout: 2.75 miles on treadmill 35 mins - (Ran 2.25 in 28!) Bike - 10 mins & my monkey bars or so I like to call it.

I did it and I felt like I could have kept running! I am so pumped for this 5k coming up. I am definitely going to run the whole then and then possibly break out into a dance at the end of it oh yes.

So, funny thing happened tonight at the gym: CK and I go together usually when he is not stuck at work and I was blogging earlier waiting on him to get home so we could go together tonight. SO, we get to the gym right, and he has to go peepee immediately. I get on my treadmill of choice (there are 2 that I love and if other people are on them I envision pushing them off while laughing. YES, I'm kinda evil) and proceed to find vampire diary's on the TV. I like to look at sexy things at the gym and since tonight's crowd was a little lacking fake vampires had to suffice. I am doing my 2 min walking warm up and CK comes out of the potty shaking his head like something horrible just happened. What he says next just about had me falling off the machine and laughing hysterically. He whispers in this highly disturbed little child voice..."man, I just saw an old man naked"

BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Poor thing, he hates seeing old men naked, that stems from a childhood youth trip trama with a naked old man who was a chaperon walking down the hall saying, "What were all guys here"

BAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA

I love him even if he gets so sad about old male penis.

My baby love all tiny and oh so presh! I love that my 3 favorite things in the world are all in this picture together back when I didn't even know he existed. CK - Guitar - Pizza.

Oh, did I mention he is a rockstar? Or that one day when he gets famous we will have our own reality show. Yup, it will be epic.

Don't break the bow.

Wedding showers are by far one of the most enjoyable ways to spend an afternoon, of course I mean if you're the bride. I am so thankful for the showers that we have received and I truly appreciate the time and effort that each one of the hostesses put into planning these parties. We had our last bridal shower yesterday & got "showered" with some amazing gifts; however, I had a few favorites:

An amber candy dish. I absolutely love the vintage feel of this trinket.

These are wonderful little dishes with the same feel as the candy dish. I had to prop it up against the door so you could see how vibrant red they are.

The BEST set of knives ever. RADA

Now, for the Pièce de résistance ! Our FIRST piece of China! I absolutely fell in love with this set and I was so excited when this peaked out of the box I was unwrapping. We have a list of a few things that we REALLY wanted and China was at the top. Finally, we now have started collecting it!

I mean really, when one gets married they should get China for them to keep forever and pass down to their children. This is that China for us. I am in love with it & want it all.

It's fabulous. Front & Back. Made in Italy.
